Crisp detail. See photos. Inscription on front reads Fr Leistungen in der H.J. (For Proficiency in the Hitler Youth) Hitler Youth Proficiency Award was instituted in June 1934. Qualification for bronze was - Boys 16 years old, who met specific standards for 100 metre sprint, 3000 metre run, long jump, shot put, hammer throw, horizontal bar exercises and swimming. Also had to demonstrate ability to perform route marches, map reading, estimating distances, fire orders, camouflage, and firing from a prone position. Also knowledge of history, and political (NSDAP) dogma. The bronze was actually rarer than the silver, for which twice as many were issued, as at the end of 1943. Qualification for silver was the same as bronze except the boys were aged 17 or older.
