WW2 German WH/SS White Helmet - Original - AUD 99.00

Standard M35 Design. Helmet used by all German Military Forces, but decals have been removed. The helmet was originally covered with the standard smooth green paint, and then overpainted with white. Some of the external white paint has a rough finish, but this is not evenly applied. Looks like dust or sand that got trapped by the paint before it dried. I dont know if this was deliberately done or not (German soldiers sometimes added sand to paint, to give a rough finish, and cut down the possibility of shine). The original paint is still in evidence where the white paint has been chipped away on the rear rim, and where the decals used to be. White paint has discoloured unevenly on exposed areas. The chinstrap is missing. Helmet has a light tan coloured liner. Liner came with the helmet, and is undamaged, apart from wear to the exposed rim. Helmet was in poor condition when I got it, and so I removed the liner, to clean it (it was caked in dirt). Leather is still supple, and thus I did not treat it, although it would probably benefit from that. See photos showing the components, before I re-assembled it. Only the original parts were used. I did not replace anything, and nothing is b

WW2 German Army Officers Field Cap - Original - AUD 99.00

German Army (Wehrmacht Heer) Officers Model 43 peaked field cap (M43 Feldmtze) in lightweight gabardine style woven grey green wool. Grey BeVo embroidered trapezoid shape mid to late war eagle, over national cockade on green backing and material. Cap has a brown brushed cotton liner, and tan leather sweatband behind the peak. Sweatbands were more often found on tailor made versions this cap, and officers caps were almost always tailor made (as they got an allowance to buy their uniforms, rather than being issued them, as the other ranks were). Marked on inside crown with - 57 Cap is undamaged, and exhibits few signs of wear, apart from the amount of dirt and sweat in and on the material. A couple of very minor braid catches (where a braid strand has been damaged), but nothing obvious, and these do not detract from the overall look of the cap. Visor retains the original gentle curve. It is not bent in the centre, as many are. Originally Size 57 (about size 7). Well manufactured. Insignia was machine stitched to the cap, at the time of manufacture. Insignia is well made. No sign of makers marks. Please do not bid on this item if you live in a country that prohibits the import of such

Standard pattern other ranks German Army (Wehrmacht Heer) Model 43 peaked field cap (M43 Feldmtze) in black wool. White BeVo embroidered shape early war eagle, over national cockade on black material. Cap has a black cotton liner, and dark grey leather sweatband behind the peak. Sweatbands were usually only found on early examples, and tailor made versions, especially for officers. Marked on inside crown with - 57 The sweatband is also impressed with a diamond shaped logo, but the details are indistinct. Appears to be in the form of the Erel logo, however whether it is or not, I cannot determine. Cap is undamaged, and exhibits few signs of wear. Visor is bent in the centre. Originally Size 57 (about size 7). Well manufactured. Insignia was machine stitched to the cap, at the time of manufacture. Insignia is well made.
German Army (Wehrmacht Heer) Artillery Other Ranks Private Purchase peaked cap (Schirmmtze) in woven grey green wool. White metal eagle and cockade/wreath, with red felt centre to cockade. High quality manufacture, likely owner was a senior non-commissioned officer, as they had occasion to wear these regularly, and could justify the expense of a tailor made cap, instead of the issue one (NCOs were issued their clothing, unlike officers, who were given a clothing allowance, and bought their own). High saddle form, with top stiffener still in position. Has good shape, and looks very good from the outside. Has bright red Artillery (Artillerie) piping either side of cap band and around top. Top piping is the larger size (which tended to be more expensive). Visor is not crazed. Underside of visor shows a very distinct mark where the owner used to hold the visor by the thumb, presumably when adjusting it, putting it on, or taking it off (this is not too unusual, but is more common with other ranks peaked caps, and officers field use peaked caps - as the owner was less likely to be wearing gloves). Very minor moth damage to top and back overhang. You have to look for this, to see it. Insi
